REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE
There was a movie that was out
last year called “The Lion King”. The Lions name was King Mufasa and he
had a cub named Simba. He brought Simba to a mountain top and said to
him: Everything that the light (meaning the sunlight) touches is our
kingdom. He explained the responsibility of kingship and warned him not
to go into the dark shadowy places. Simba’s evil uncle lured him into
that dark place to try to kill him but his father came to his rescue
before the wild animals devoured him. The father taught him several
things such as knowing his position and understanding his authority,
Before Mufasa died he told Simba: "Believe in yourself and there will come a day when others will have no choice but to believe with you". And then he told Simba something that remained with him throughout the years. He said: “Remember who you are, you are my son”. Simba
survived through many attempted attacks from wild animals as he grew up
and eventually became king. He entered into a new place and all the
animals there accepted him as a friend. He then had a baby cub to pass
on his legacy.
I rarely watch movies but I watched that movie today and the Lord
showed me several things. It’s fascinating how the Holy Spirit could
speak through just about anything. Before Jesus died and was
resurrected, he released his authority to us. In the book of John
chapter 17 he was talking to his father and he said: And the glory which
You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.
As Holy Spirit filled believers we could change the world when we get
the revelation that we are living below our nature and short of our
potential. Jesus has given us authority and many of us still don’t understand it.
Jesus made an impact everywhere that
he went when he walked the earth. People recognized his authority and
the religious leaders were astonished by his teaching. He healed the
sick, cleansed the leper and raised the dead. People who were demon
possessed screamed out confessing that he was the son of God. Jesus has
given us that same authority. It was prophesied in the book of Acts "But
you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you
shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria,
and to the end of the earth." We have to remember who we are.
The Lord says; I am inviting you
today into a deeper relationship with Me. I desire to lead you as my
sons and daughters. I want to teach you and reveal My power through you.
As you speak My word, situations in your life will begin to shift. As
you use My authority and speak My name, mountains will move. I have
given you authority over all sickness and disease. As you lay hands on
the sick, they shall recover. Whatsoever you bind on earth shall be
bound in heaven. Whatsoever you loose on earth shall be loosed in
heaven. I have given you the power to overcome every obstacle that comes
against you and to tear down strongholds using the mighty weapons that I
have provided for you. As you use the authority, dominion and power
that I have released to you in my name, you will begin to rule and reign
on this earth and My glory will prevail in your lives and ministries
says the Lord.
Matthew 10:1
When He had called His twelve
disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them
out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.
Matthew 16:17-19
And these signs will follow
those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak
with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink
anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on
the sick, and they will recover." "And I will give you the keys of the
kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in
heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven"
Luke 10:19.
Behold, I give you the
authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power
of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you"
Acts 1:8
But you shall receive power
when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me
in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the
earth.
Praise the Lord.
