FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
In
the book of Genesis we read how God created the heavens and the earth.
He created the waters, the grass, the trees, the sun, the moon and all
the animals. In Genesis 2:7: The Lord God formed man of the dust of the
ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man
became a living soul. The same God of creation wants to fill you with His Holy Spirit
After Jesus died and was resurrected, his disciples were gathered together in a house with the doors locked. Jesus suddenly appeared to them
and said “peace to you”. He showed them his hands and his feet so that
they would know that it was truly him. Jesus repeated his
greeting, “Peace to you!” And he told them, “Just as the Father has sent me, I’m now sending you.” He then breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. That
word breathed in John 20:22 is the very same word as Genesis 2:7: 'And
the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Being
filled with the Holy Spirit is available to every believer. He wants to
fill you with that same Spirit that created the heavens and the earth,
healed the sick and raised Jesus from the dead. In Acts 2: When the Day
of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues.
That word Spirit (Or Ghost) is ‘pneuma” in the original context
(Strongs concordance G4151) which is actually the third person of the
triune God, the Holy Spirit, coequal, co eternal with the Father and the
Son.
When we are filled with the Holy Spirit we will do the same works as Jesus disciples and apostles did. In Acts 5:12 many signs and wonders were done among the people through the apostles hands and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s Porch. In the book of Luke Jesus sent out seventy disciples. They came back rejoicing saying “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. (This proves that He was God and He was there before the world was created) and He said “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you”.
Jesus wants to equip and fill His people to do great exploits.
Just as the Lord performed extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul,
so that handkerchiefs or aprons were even carried from his body to the
sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out. In Acts 10:44 When Peter was ministering he was amazed that the Holy Spirit fell upon the Gentiles and they were filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in tongues and magnifying God..Peter said, “How could anyone object to these people being baptized? For they have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.”
The
Lord wants to release dunamis power and quicken your mortal body. He
wants to bring resuscitation to your spirit as you get filled with the
Holy Spirit. Being filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues is available to every believer. Jesus said, you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and
you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and all the
earth. That which the Lord has intended to do through us in these last
days could be accomplished as we "receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit" and be endued with power from on high. Then we will be able to minister with excellent with miracles, signs and wonders to this generation.
Genesis 2:7
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
John 20: 21-22
So
Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I
also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:1-4 (TPT)
On the day Pentecost was being fulfilled, all the disciples were gathered in one place. Suddenly they heard the sound of a violent blast of wind rushing into the house[c] from out of the heavenly realm. The roar of the wind was so overpowering it was all anyone could bear! Then all at once a pillar of fire appeared before their eyes, It separated into tongues of fire that engulfed each one of them. They were all filled and equipped[f] with the Holy Spirit and were inspired [ to speak in tongues—empowered by the Spirit to speak in languages they had never learned!
Praise The Lord
